The Cross-AI journey begins before the conference. Events run year-round and virtually, which is what lets a platform announced in 2026 have something real to attend in 2026.

A calendar, not a countdown

An annual conference asks a community to hold its conversation for twelve months and then have all of it in three days. The events programme exists so that it does not have to. Workshops, forums, and tutorials run through the year, most of them virtual, each one small enough to be organised by the people who actually want it to happen.

Virtual is the default rather than the fallback. It costs a participant nothing but an afternoon, it does not require a visa, and it is the only format in which a new platform can convene people honestly in its first year.

Formats

Workshops carry their own call for papers, their own programme committee, and their own proceedings. They are the venue for work that is too early, too narrow, or too interdisciplinary for a main-track slot — which is to say, most of the work this platform exists for.

Forums are discussion-first: a small panel, a prepared provocation, and an hour of argument. Nothing is submitted and nothing is reviewed.

Tutorials are taught sessions aimed across a boundary — a methods tutorial written for people who do not already work in that method’s field.

Proposing one

Events are proposed by the people who want to run them, not commissioned centrally. A proposal needs a topic, a rough date, two organisers, and a sentence about which crossing it sits on. If it holds up, we handle the infrastructure: submission, review tooling, hosting, and the record afterwards.

What is scheduled now

Two virtual workshops run in December 2026 — AIMG 2026 on AI for music generation, and MMAI 2026 on multimodal AI. Both have open calls for papers, and submission for both is handled on Airballoon. Every dated event on this site carries its edition, its mode, and its deadline; there are no undated entries.
